The Ötscher

With its 1,893 m the Ötscher is the highest peak of the Mostviertel region.

The word "Ötscher" is of Slavonic origin and means "Father moutain".

The mountain probably received this name because of its majestic size:
From the north and the south it appears as a broad, bulky ridge, from the east the mountain looks like an elegant pyramid.
