HISTORY COMES ALIVE AT PIBERSTEIN CASTLE!

This magnificent castle was built around 1200, and big areas were cleared of the trees for human settlements. The names of the villages of Piber-Schlag, Alten-Schlag and Thurner-Schlag originate from these times. Today cultural and other events take place at Piberstein! The castle can be visited on prior arrangement. Please call Mr. Danzer at 07218/440.

A living Museum - The former Smithy at Hammergraben

The traditional Smithy was built in the early 19th century. 50 years later the factory was equipped with the oldest tail-hammer of the entire area. Today the Smithy is a part of the unique Culture Trail. Visits are available on prior arrangement: please contact the Treml family at 07216/6359.
