Main indicators are degenerative and infectious diseases of the supporting appartus, attrition effects, states of exhaustion and women diseases. Apart from diagnostic facilities, the cure centre offers you the whole range of physical therapies.

Jogging and Nordic Walking in the "Xundheitswelt"

The "Xundheitswelt" stands for better quality of life set in the unspoilt natural landscape of the Waldviertel, offering countless possibilities to go jogging or Nordic Walking. 29 professionally marked routes and a network of more than 180 km provide something in the taste of each and every jogger or walker. The offer of the "Xundwärts" routes goes from easy beginners in a rather flat area, to theme routes, a night-time jogging trail, selected routes for athletic joggers or Nordic Walkers and well-cleared routes in winter. A professional team of instructors is there to assist you in learning the right jogging / Nordic walking technique.

The Waldviertel region offers a lot for those interested in art and culture: mighty abbeys, palaces and castles, the beautiful old town of Weitra with its impressive Sgraffito house (Renaissance) and civil mansions from various eras.

Fascinating details for culture-minded people: the Renaissance arcade courtyard, the Rokoko theatre, the castle museum and the brewery exhibition with beer remnants from the oldest brewing town of Austria in the castle of Weitra.

A propos history and stories: If you decide to take a stroll through the nature park Blockheide near Gmünd, you will meet witnesses from the distant past, the so-called "Northern woods": huge granite blocks that appear to be thrown into the landscape at random and which, according to the tale, are remnants of the living quarters of a giant, supposedly inhabiting this area in former times.

At the Power Arena in Groß Gerungs, you can experience the "mystical heritage" of the Waldviertel in the form of a stone pyramide, a wobbling stone or a sacrifice stone.

Our health & rehabilitation centre comprises the Hochwald hotel as well as the Bildbaum, Bergfeld and Fischerstein hotels with health & spa centres, and the Bildbaum station. All of its equipment is accessible within the building.

All the rooms offer ensuite facilities, radio, satellite TV, telephone and an Internet connection (analogue connection / intern server).

Spend a wonderful, exciting holiday in the Moorheilbad Harbach! Surrounded by forests, our 4-star-hotel welcomes you with its cosy atmosphere and modern flair. At the hotel bar, we serve "Xundwärts"-Cocktails and excellent meals in our restaurant. You can send messages in our internet corner to your beloved ones.

Relax in our adventurous indoor swimming pool including a ceramic steambath and jacuzzi. The water temperature of 30°C as well as the special showers for your neck and the massaging devices invite you to forget everyday life. During summer, you can use our lido.

From the winter garden of our indoor pool, you have a beautiful view over the village Harbach. Our wellness area includes a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna featuring coloured light, another ceramic steambath, a "Kneipp" bath, a heated bench and a rest area where you can take your time to recover. Furthermore, you can relax in our solariums, in the tepidarium and in our "energy island".

Our house also offers you cosmetics, a hairdresser and chiropody (foot care).

Cardiovascular Centre Groß Gerungs

The cardiovascular centre in Groß Gerungs combines the amenities of a comfort hotel with excellent, state-of-the-art medical equipment and a professional team of doctors and therapists specialised in cardiovascular medicine. Groß Gerungs provides medical care in the following fields: chronic heart diseases, heart attacks, individual medical care before and after operations, circulatory disorder.

The medical team is made up of specialists, practitioners and qualified staff who are there to ensure the wellbeing of their patients around the clock. The "brewery hotel" Weitra - a former beer hall (brewery) from the 16th century - offers a wide range of beers and delicious meals. Our beautifully designed rooms, sauna and massages invite you to relax and recover. Furthermore, we provide seminar rooms ideal for meetings.

Guesthouse Kristall

Chill out with us: The guesthouse Kristall in Hirschenwies is the perfect place to do so. Cheerful, coloured grasslands and deep forests provide the perfect surrounding for extensive walks and hikings, for instance up the Nebelstein mountain (1017m). In winter, you can explore the snow-covered landscape on cross-country skis.
Right next to the house, you can find a deer enclosure and several fish ponds. In our house, we welcome you to sit in cosy parlours, have a nice meal in our dining hall or relax in our comfortable rooms. Overall, we provide an intimate, family-like atmosphere. Our meals are prepared based on organic ingredients taken from the "Ecological Cycle Moorbad Harbach" - an important cornerstone for your healthy diet.

In addition, the guesthouse Kristall owned by the Weber family has another attraction to offer: the private crystal studio, pride of the village Hirschenwies for 100 years now. The workshop, just next to the guesthouse, serves to produce crystal glass in royal quality: Apart from other prominent people, King Juan Carlos of Spain, Queen Elizabeth II of England and Queen Beatrix from the Netherlands have come appreciate and own Weber crystal glass! As a guest, you can witness the manufacturing process of crystal glass or try out grinding the glass yourself.

Guesthouse "Waldpension Nebelstein"

"Once upon a time", that's the motto of our family-run guesthouse in the upper Waldviertel region, dedicated to legends and fairy-tales: Those who want to dive into long-lost times of storytelling have found the right place at our house.

For instance, we have romantic fairy-tale rooms designed not only for children, but also "elderly" guests. Relax and be reminded of hours full of adventure. Sleep in Sleeping Beauty's room (although not 100 years!), dream of Prince Charming in Cinderella's room, go on a treasure hunt with Ali Baba or look for the Magic Lamp with Aladin.

For small guests just as well as their parents, the guesthouse Nebelstein offers fun and romance. By the way, free for the kids, who can stay in the room of their parents until the age of six. However, our motto "once upon a time" is only true for the "magic" atmosphere of the guesthouse, since its comfort doubtless speaks of more modern times!
