Welcome to our inn "Gasthof Gosausee"

Spend your holiday in the one of the worlds most beautiful mountain area in the Alps in "Salzkammergut". Our house has been managed for decades by our family. Our commitment is always to offer our guests a pleasant and relaxing stay at attractive prices.

Our inn is situated at the base of the „Dachstein“ directly at the lake „Gosausee“. The unique location with a view to the spectacular scenery is perfect for nature lovers to relax and escape the daily stress.
Whether summer or winter holiday, our inn is the perfect base for activities like scuba diving, hiking, skiing and much more.

The Gosau ski resort is part of “Dachstein West”, a big area which is involving about 130 kilometers of slopes. Due to the high altitude of about 770m, in Gosau from December till March good snow conditions are guaranteed. The gondola lift up to Zwieselalm (and the whole ski resort) is only about a kilometer away from our house.
Because of the big variety of different slopes, it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an advanced skier. Also you can find a ski rental, a ski school, the “Brumsiland” (for kids), a fun park and of course possibilities for après-ski.
The modern and comfortable lifts allow you to arrive as quickly as possible the top of the mountains.
The advantage of our house is the exposed position, so the free ski bus will carry you without stress directly from our house to the nearby slopes.

For those who are looking away of the slopes for sporting challenges can use the cross-country-track with a length of 50 kilometers, start a snowshoe hike or toboggan down the forest roads.

The annual highlight is the week of the balloons in Gosau. From the 09.01. till 16.01.2012 more than 40 hot air balloons decorate the sky above Gosau. On request you can make the experience on first hand, and rise up into the sky. The highlight of this event is the night of the balloons, where the balloons enlighten like big laterns. The romantic evening ends with a big firework with a musical accompaniment. An experience for the whole family!

Our house is the perfect starting point for hikes of all difficulty levels in Gosau - from the family-friendly walk around the Gosausee up to the ascent of Dachstein. It’s also possible to go comfortably by the cable car, which is located in close proximity, near to the Gosaukamm to start one of the many walking tours. Also the mountain huts invite you to take a break to enjoy the amazing view and try some regional specialities.
The regional excursion train, which stops directly at our house, gives you the opportunity to visit the mountain area on a special way.
