The Krippenstein ski area features the longest downhill slopes of Upper Austria (11 km), the most beautiful backcountry slopes and the largest alpine ski mountaineering area. We offer you the following:

- A 4-seater chairlift
- Snow-making facilities, ranging from the valley to the Krippenbrunn (600 m - 1600 m) on 4.7 km of slopes (!) - thus unlimited skiing fun is guaranteed from December to April.
- Krippi Park: this is the ideal area to try to do the first curves in the snow.

Freeride-Arena Krippenstein ski area

Skiing instead of wasting time on the ski lift. This is the motto of the Free-Arena Krippenstein ski area. The impressive mountain massif, being dominated by the Hohe Dachstein mountain, boasts a series of winter sports opportunities. The downhill slope from the Krippenstein mountain via the Gjaidalm pasture and the Krippenbrunn mountain village to Obertraun is one of the longest and most interesting slopes of Austria, with a total length of 11 km and a total difference in altitude of 1,500 m.

Not only skiers do get their money worth on the Krippenstein mountain. The extensive area at an altitude of 2,100 m is also a true paradise for freeriders and ski mountaineering enthusiasts.

The Schönberg mountain, the Angeralm pasture, Imisl and the Eisgrube constitute a great attraction for free riders - be it on skis or on the snowboard!

We recommend the 21-km Dachstein cross-over tour from the Hunerkogel mountain (2,700 m) to Obertraun or Hallstatt.
