The perfect place in spring, summer, autumn and winter: Ernen, one of the most beautiful villages in the Valais canton.

Awarded with the Henry-Louis Wakker Price in 1979 for its well-conserved and beautiful village. As far as history is concerned, our village guides have lots of information. Be it Switzerland´s oldest Tell frescoes or stories about Matthäus Schiner, whose statue can be seen on the village green (by Hans Loretan). MÜHLEBACH is also worthwhile because it is the oldest village constructed with timber.

For 25 years Ernen has hosted classical concerts featuring famous classical musicians. Thanks to this and the international music courses, Ernen became known as "music village" beyond the country´s borders. Ask for our concert program, it´s worth it!

Ernen Mühlebach Steinhaus, located in midst of the marvelous Goms hiking area, is ideal for hiking tours. The Ernen tourist office is delighted to inform you about the many opportunities.

It´s not easy to decide which is the best season for spending some time in Ernen. In spring when nature awakes? In autumn when the forests change color? In winter, when snowflakes whirl around the dark houses? Come and decide for yourself!

The perfect place in spring, summer, autumn and winter: Ernen, one of the most beautiful villages in the Wallis canton.

The ERNERGALEN skiing area is situated on 1235 to 2292m above sea level and is famous for its good snow conditions till late spring. Whether skiers, snowboarders or carvers, all love the four lifts and the fact that there are no waiting times. The parking lot is free.

The snowbar is located in the middle of the skiing area and the Chäserstatt restaurant offers a marvelous view of the nursery lift and the surrounding panorama.

Ernen´s alpine snowboard school provides courses for skiers, snowboarders or carvers. Ski or snowshoe tours are especially popular. You get state-of-the-art sports equipment in the Seiler sports shop. Or book the sledges for a tour from Chäserstatt to Mühlebach.

The cross-country trails are also free and the numerous winter hiking paths are very inviting. Just enjoy the lovely landscape.

It is hard to say at which time of the year Ernen is more beautiful. Is it spring when nature awakens? Or in autumn when the forests change their color? Or in winter when the snowflakes dance around the house? Decide for yourself!
