Duty-free and attractive. The Samnaun valley is the lowest side valley of the Engadin region and a valley on the borders of Tyrol.

In the 13th century it was cultivated from the Engadin and later populated. Due to the centralization of the Swiss customs system, Samnaun was very threatend in its existence and therefore became a duty-free area in 1892.

Today, Samnaun is an attractive holiday resort thanks to the duty-free zone and the opening up of the Alp Trida. The people of Samnaun are proud of their first double curling rink and the biggest suspension cable railway. Samnaun is tucked away in a wonderful mountain landscape. Dreamy valleys, lush mountain pastures, jagged walls of rock, quiet woods and refreshing mountain streams.

In winter fun in the snow on a high level - in the largest skiing of the Eastern Alps - a union of Samnaun and the Tyrolean holiday resort Ischgl - is guaranteed. Between 1.400 and 2.900 meters, in one of Europe´s regions guaranteed to have snow, 40 modern ski lifts offer magnificant downhill runs on more than 200 varied kilometers of slopes. In summer, Samnaun is a hiking paradise. There are high and low summits to climb. The right place to enjoy the Alpenquell- adventure swimming pool.
