The holiday resort Buochs is situated on a bay of Lake Lucerne, on the foot of the steep Buochserhorn mountain. It offers many possibilities for sports, in the water or on the land.
There is also something to see in the way of architecture: like a sentinel, the catholic parochial church, dating from the 12th century, with its Late-Baroque and Classicist altars, stands on a moraine above the houses of Buochs.
But the village is also worth seeing for its Baroque Obgass chapel with its heavily protruding roof and its numerous votive tablets as well as the so-called Blue House (Blauhaus) - an excellent example of a rich Unterwalden house with its half rural, half bourgeois architecture, influenced by Lucerne.
