Schaan in the Fürstentum Liechtenstein is situated on the border to Switzerland at a distance of 3km from Vaduz. It is an ideal place for going on hiking and cycling tours in Switzerland and in Liechtenstein. The Fürstentum offers an extraordinarily beautiful and diverse countryside that is rare to be found elsewhere in an area of such a small extension.
Worthwhile sights are the St Maria zum Trost Chapel, the parish church, Roman excavation sites, an ancient church tower and the St Peter Church built on the foundation wall of a Roman Castle.
