Have you ever felt like a bird?

Have you ever felt like a bird? In the gliders' mecca not only birds feel at ease.

Three hundred days of sun a year make for the perfect thermal currents. The mountain railways around Bellwald take gliding fans up the mountains, to the Fiescheralp pasture for instance, one of the world's best gliding areas. In summer, gliders meet up in Münster, and they let themselves guide only by their senses until the nights arrives.

Welcome to the valley of weightlessness!

What do 300 days of sun a year feel like?

The answer is easy: like holidays in the Goms.

The Goms will remind you what sun feels like - and much more. No Alpine valley has remained more original. Here, nature has stayed real. This is true of the longest glacier of the Alps, the Aletsch, and the untouched valleys of the Binntal nature reserve as well as of the mountain villages that have remained unchanged for centuries. Otherwise rare plants can be found in abundance in the Goms. Indulge in the endless treasures of the Goms and go on a hike or for a mountain-bike ride, enjoy a guided tour or play golf. And you won't have to miss out on social and cultural events.

Welcome to the valley of diversity!

You think that culture belongs to cities?

The Goms will disabuse you of that notion.

Church

We cannot boast large operas and world theaters but in summer you will meet some of the world's best classic musicians in the musical village of Ernen. Admire magnificent organs made by some of the greatest organ builders. Some 80 churches and chapels from Gothic to Baroque style feature precious art treasures. Be captivated by the architecture of the ancient wooden houses in the villages and hamlets that have preserved their traditional style. Traditions are more than mere demonstrations for tourists; they express the identity of the local population.

Welcome to the valley of authenticity!

Where hospitality has been invented. The pioneer of the hotel business grew up in Goms: Caesar Ritz.

He founded the world-famous Ritz Hotels and is considered the father of hospitality. In Goms, this tradition is lived day by day. Some of the finest restaurants of the Valais are situated in Goms. Prize-winning cooks turn local produce into culinary delights. Rediscovered local specialties beguile your senses. Make a wish, and we will fulfill it.

Treat yourself to regional culinary delights such as the Caesar Ritz menu and the most delicious specialties of the Goms in an atmosphere of exceptional hospitality.

Welcome the the valley where guests are kings!

Noise and laughter are part of a holiday. In Goms children can play to their hearts' content.

Family Goms

Instead of Disneyland and Playstation your little ones will discover brooks and forests. Instead of TV and DVD they will get to know the treasures of nature and play with petting animals. Exchange adult stress for day dreams without worries. Dull children's rooms will be replaced by straw, Alpine pasture huts and a Tipi. Instead of suppressing children's fantasies we make them come true!

Fiesch, Bellwald and Ernen have obtained the seal 'Families welcome', awarding them for their child and family friendliness.

Welcome to the valley of sparkling children's eyes

Would you also like to find a crystal?
In the Binn valley the mountains reveal their secrets.

You have already seen every spot of nature? We don't believe you before you haven't gone to the Binn valley. No noisy mountain-pass roads or railways break the silence. Go on foot or by bike - these are the only ways to get forward that make sense. It is not surprising that this area is protected by conservation laws. Those who give in to the powerful impressions of nature will find acres of untouched mountain scenery. This is when the mountains reveal their secrets: a variety of rock crystals that can be found nowhere else in the world.

The municipalities of Binn, Ernen and Grengiols strive to preserve their unique cultural and natural heritage and use it in a sustainable way. They are currently setting up the Binntal nature reserve and developing new, innovative products and services.

Welcome to the heart of the crystal world!

Do you know the most beautiful side of the Jungfrau? The Aletsch glacier and its surroundings have been protected by conservation laws for 70 years.

Aletschgletscher

More than 21km of ice, up to 900m deep, 1,000-year-old trees in the Aletsch forest, an unlimited variety of flora and fauna, impressive 4,000m peaks - an abundance of natural treasures that is hard to grasp. The Aletsch glacier has been the core of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschorn UNESCO World Nature Heritage since 2001, making it play in the same league as Yosemite National Park, the Everglades, Ayers Rock or Kilimanjaro.

Welcome to the valley of natural wonders!
