Nature experience Aletsch region
The Aletsch glacier is the largest and longest glacier in the Alps. Its ice masses stretch from the Northern side of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau over 24 kilometres deep down into the Valais. You can get a magnificent view of the glistening glacier tongue from Bettmeralp and the surrounding mountains. Between Bettmeralp and Riederalp, on roughly 2200 metres above sea level, lies the Aletschwald, one of the highest stone pine woods in Europe. In the shadow of its trees, you can take marvellous walks with a splendid view of the glacier and the mountains.
