Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva (Genfer See in German and Lac Léman or Lac de Genève in French) is one of Central Europe's largest lakes.

Lake Geneva is located in southeast Switzerland. Its southern shores belong to France. Around Central Europe's second largest lake there are big cities such as Geneva (on the southern tip) or Lausanne (on the northern shores) as well as famous holiday destinations such as Vevey and Montreux. The fascinating blend of water and mountains and the pleasant climate make the region around Lake Geneva a popular spot for holiday makers. The Lavaux wine-growing area is a UNESCO world cultural heritage site.
