Pfaffenwinkel is delightfully situated in the Upper Bavarian foothills and comprises the area bound by the rivers of Lech, Ammer and Loisach and the stretch of land extending from lake Ammer and lake Starnberger to the Ammergau mountains. The varied landscape is characterized by lush meadows, dense forests, gentle hills, beautiful moors, lakes and rivers.

Thanks to its central location, the Pfaffenwinkel region makes an ideal base from which to explore many interesting sights and attractions (Munich, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the fairytale castles of Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Linderhof).
Monks, nuns and priests. 159 churches and innumerable monasteries. Right they were, the clergymen, in their decision to settle in this wonderful stretch of land. They have always known where the most beautiful spots are to be found. And indeed, Pfaffenwinkel is a kind of heaven on earth, where the lover of fine scenery will find landscapes to perfection at almost every turn. The azure-blue of the skies is reflected in numerous lakes and ponds, and a little bit in the eyes of the people who live here.
