Besenello is a small village of Vallagarina situated between Trento and Rovereto. It is primarily renowned for the Beseno Castle overlooking the village that can be reached both from the centre of the village and the SS 350 to Folgaria. It enjoys a particularly mild climate thanks to its geographic location within a quadrangle of roads across vineyards and orchards set in a sunny amphitheatre.
It is an agricultural, industrial and crafts area and table grapes, wine and fruits are cultivated here.
On the basis of available documents this place was colonized in the prehistoric era; objects dating back to Bronze, Roman and Barbaric eras have been found. Besenello means small Beseno after the hill overlooking the village; it has been fortified ever since the prehistoric era including the castle, the parish church and the steward´s house developed in jurisdiction. The place name Besenello appeared in the 15th century and was a single community together with Calliano. The two municipalities were separated in the 19th century and then united again later on during the fascist period and have been definitely divided since 1947.
Besides the castle it is worth visiting the church of St. Agata, already renown in 1205, in which the large gravestones of the Trapp family, Lords of Castle Beseno, can be found and the church of St. Marina with Romanesque structure (13th century).

All along the main road through the village and also along the side-streets the so-called "ere" (farmyards), a remarkable example of rural architecture, can be admired.
