Molveno is a renowned tourist area at an altitude of 864 m in the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park, on the western side of the lake, the second largest one in Trentino.
It is the starting point for alpine tours on the Brenta Dolomites, equipped with a number of ski lifts leading to the Pradel (1,400 m) to the many paths and Via Ferrata (e.g. the famous "Sentiero delle Bocchette") crossing the Brenta Dolomites and attracting thousands of amateur mountaineers every year. For the sports enthusiast Molveno has many facilities: tennis courts, swimming pools, archery, bowls, cycling paths, roller-skating, mini golf, football, volleyball, sailing, windsurf, sports angling, climbing wall and relaxing boat tours and the complete relaxation on the green lake shores.
For the amateur historians the small church of St. Vigilio offers a splendid late-Gothic portal with 16-17th-century frescoes. Among the palaces owned by noble families it is worth mentioning the Palace of the Counts Saracini. The tourist can also visit the original ancient sawmill Taialacqua powered by the water of the Brook of the Molini dating back to 1500, is situated near the camping site and has been recently renovated.
In summer many international events are organized in Molveno: the "18 feet" and "14 feet" sailing regattas with boats coming from Australia. The summer season starts in May and lasts till October.
