A Mediterranean atmosphere, lush vegetation, more than 180 castles, fortresses and residences, lots of cultural treasures and world-famous wines characterize Eppan/Appiano, the sunny holiday resort in the south of South Tyrol. The "sunny gardens" of this municipality on the wine street extend 9 km southwest of the capital Bozen/Bolzano, at the entrance of the Dolomites.
At an altitude between 240 and 900m, Eppan/Appiano with its localities St. Michael/ S. Michele, Girlan/ Cornaiono, St. Pauls/ S. Paolo, Frangart/ Frangarto, Montiggl/ Monticolo, Gand/ Gaido, Missian/ Missiano, Unterrain/ Riva di Sotto, Perdonig/ Predonico and Gaid/Gaido is considered to be the biggest wine-growing area and one of the biggest fruit-growing area in South Tyrol. Thanks to 1970 sunny hours every year, it´s also the ideal destination for all sun-worshipers.
