The Monte Rosa "pearl"

Valle Anzasca, the ancient valley of Antuanes, a tribe of the Leponzi, leads directly to the east wall of Monte Rosa, the widest and highest mountain face of the Alps. Like a huge cathedral of rock and ice, at 4638 m Monte Rosa is so grand and imposing as to be reminiscent of the Himlaya. The so-called " four sister" of Monte Rosa, Gnifetti, Zumstein, Dufour and Nordend, provide a breath-takin vista without equal in the Alps.

Macugnaga lies at the foot of the immense and spectacular east face of Monte Rosa, the highest in Europe. Macugnaga is the most important and well equipped tourist resort of Ossola. The village guides will take you on excursion on Monte Rosa, or on mountain clims where you are sure to come across alpine flowers, marmots and mountain goats.

In this vast skiing area offers opportunities for winter skking with pistes suitable for beginners and more challenging pistes for experienced skiers.
