Nomi castle

Judging by the few still standing walls, this fortress probably didn´t play an extremely significant role in the political history of the Principality. The castle, connected with the various armed clashes that took place in Vallagarina, was part of the famous fortified quadrilateral - Castel Beseno, Pietra, Barco -, that became well-known during the Battle of Calliano, when the Habsburg Empire fought against Venice. In alternate periods it belonged to the Castelbarcos, who then abandoned it and moved to the more comfortable palace built in the underlying town. This happened frequently and not only in Trentino, because in the Renaissance there was a progressive evolution in social and economic conditions.
