such as Castel Corno, constructed on an almost inaccessible rock spur, dominating the area where the valley of Gresta crosses that of the river Adige. The structure, clearly used for military purposes, was mainly inhabited by garrisons, who had the guard tower and small domestic rooms at their disposal. The fortress, fought over by various local lords, including the Castel Corno family, passed through the hands of the Castelbarcos, the Lodrons and the Liechtensteins. It is mentioned in numerous and incredible legends, like that concerning a long staircase which apparently connected the castle with Palazzo del Giudice (Palace of the Judge) in Isera. Only crumbling ruins remain for visitors today. The building can be reached by car through the streets leading from Lenzima or Villa Lagarina to Patone or on foot from Patone or Lenzima through grasslands and woods.
