Lake Iseo lies at the bottom of the Camonica valley at the foothills of the Alps of Lombardy. It comprises part of the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia and features the biggest island in any European lake, Monte Isola, with two picturesque small islands to the north and south, Loreto and San Paolo.
Lake Iseo is a popular holiday destination all year round. The main season, however, is still summer when the lake hosts many sailing regattas, concert and dances. Lake Iseo is also a perfect place to practise water sports such as swimming, wind surfing, diving and in particular sailing due to the favourable wind conditions of the area.
Fishing is still popular in many coastal resorts due to the lake’s large quantities of pikes and trout.
