Holidays Graz

The pulsating heart of Styria

Urban life, cultural hotspot and great history: Graz has thousands of facets and provides a very special atmosphere. Therefore, it is not surprising that the city was elected European Capital of Culture in 2003 and the historic city center is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Holidays in Graz offer plenty of activities. The Mur river runs through the city – where numerous pubs, bars, restaurants, museums and historic sites have developed along its banks. The Schlossberg (Castle Hill), the Clock Tower, or the Mur Island are an absolute must see. Many hotels have adapted their offers to city tourism and attract guests with their special weekend package deals. Graz is a pulsating, young and historic city.

Enjoy life in Graz

There is hardly any other city in Austria where contrasting aspects work so well together. On the one hand, Graz has the largest Medieval old town in Europe and at the same time there is a great cultural program, especially for younger people. Graz is also a university city and therefore very vibrant. Furthermore, you can discover many sights in the city: The State Arsenal displays more than 32,000 weapons and suits of armors of past centuries.
Something completely different is the Mur Island – a steel construction in the middle of the river catches the eye of every tourist. Graz has dedicated itself to art in many ways. There are numerous museums and galleries showing historic as well as modern art. In this context the Children’s Museum Fred + Frida has to be mentioned, where children are artists and visitors at the same time.
Styriarte – the Styrian festival where classic music is celebrated in a new form – has become a well-established event. But there are also numerous other concerts, which attract national and international artists to this magic and vibrant city every year. If you want to enjoy life – a city trip to Graz is always the right choice.
