Freeride Hohe Tauern - Großglockner

(c) Nationalpark Hohe Tauern
  • On the sunny southern side of the Alps, right at the heart of the Hohe Tauern mountain range, superb freeriding is the order of the day: the scenic ski areas of Mallnitz and Heiligenblut rank among Carinthia's most beautiful powder snow spots – uninterrupted panoramic views are already included!
  • Above the romantic mountain village of Heilgenblut you can choose from six different freeride areas stretching up to 3000 meters altitude, covering incredible 25 km² of free skiing terrain in the high Alpine region.
  • The Großglockner Freeride Arena also features checkpoint boards informing about the current avalanche risk. To be on the safe side you can also enlist a local ski and mountain guide.
  • The lovely winter sport resort of Mallnitz makes a real powder snow paradise. Ankogel with its wide open slopes and troughs ranks among the hot spots for freeriders, especially recommendable is the Böckstein route.
