The unique Murtal hiking paradise makes a wonderful destination for fantastic summer holidays together with your family. Explore Zirbitzkogel at 2400 meters above sea level, the highest peak of the Seetaler Alps in Murtal's south. More leisurely tours are on the program in the gently rolling Nockberge mountains west of the Seetaler Alps, comprising also a part of the Gurktaler Alps. In the north you find the Tauern massif just perfect for alpinists and geology fans. Winter vacation in the Murtal mountains

The winter season is kicked-off with a number of cattle drive events in autumn held throughout the Murtal Holiday Region. Celebrating the return of the cows from their Alpine pastures, where they spent the whole summer, is deeply rooted in tradition. As soon as the snow falls in winter, sport fans are spoilt for choice when it comes to breathtaking winter activities. Alpine skiers and snowboarders can hit the slopes on 9 ski mountains in Murtal valley - for example Kreischberg or Frauenalpe in Murau. The picture-book landscape lends itself to outstanding nature exploration for all ages and skill levels.
