  • Pfunds nestles at the heart of the Tirolean Oberland holiday region, and makes for a great hiking base to 2153-meter tall Frudiger, the most popular peak of Pfunds offering picture-book vistas of the Alpine scenery. On the way up to the summit hikers walk through the Pfundser Tschey high Alpine valley with countless historical cooking huts.
  • The region's 5 mountain lifts give access to the finest peaks, for example from Fendels towards Sattelklause ridge – walking via Mittagskopf summit you can easily reach Kaunertal valley.
  • A true highlight is the ascent to Gepatschhaus on Gepatschferner glacier, featuring also a high Alpine Nature Path that leads across the Gepatsch ice fields and gives useful information on the glacier landscape. The hike continues towards Rauhekopfhütte overlooking the mighty mountains and glaciers.

On warm summer days the Tirolean Oberland makes a perfect spot for a refreshing swim in one of the splendid mountain lakes or pools – for example in Ried or Pfunds. The Kaunertal Center also features a huge indoor swimming bath ideal in all weathers.

More than 550km of pistes are to the delight of fun sports athletes, sunshine skiers, families and ambitious skiers and snowboarders. Thanks to the central location of the holiday region it is a perfect base for getting to the top ski areas of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Samnaun-Ischgl, Nauders-Reschenpass, Fendels and Kaunertal glacier.
