Holidays Hippach

Zillertal Valley – Family Holidays

Hippbach is located at the back of the Zillertal valley in Tirol, at 600 meters above sea level – a small and idyllic community with 1500 inhabitants. The meadows and farms in the village are located at the steep hillside of Schend and Laimacher Gugglberg mountain. There is a network of 200 km of hiking and walking trails around Mayrhofen and Hippach. About 800 km of cycling tracks ensure that also mountain bikers will not get bored. In winter, the mountain village is the ideal starting point for romantic walks amid snow, for Alpine ski tours and tobogganing fun. Those who want to spend their skiing holidays in Hippach, will find 133 km of perfectly groomed as well as spectacular slopes at the Mayrhofen ski resort. The black “Harakiri” slope is the steepest slope in Austria with a gradient of 78%!

Unique Moments between Mountains & Valley

Hippach – and the surrounding villages of Ramsau and Schwendau – have a lot to offer, not only in winter. The Zillertaler, Tuxer and Kitzbüheler Alps are also the perfect terrain for hiking and mountain biking fans. The lifts take guests who spend their holiday in Hippach directly to the top of Ramsberg. Mountain bikers can choose from 800 km of bike trails in the Zillertal valley. Furthermore, there are also many Cross Country Trails at Penken.

Fun sport activities such as paragliding, horse-back riding and rafting on the Ziller river are also offered: The Action Club Zillertal, located directly at the main road in Mayrhofen offers a diverse outdoor program ranging from rafting and canyoning to guided climbing tours. In Uderns, approx. a 20-minutes drive away from Hippach, there is a new 18-hole golf course with a large driving range as well as putting and chipping greens which was constructed in 2014.

Winter Holidays in Hippach: Action & Fun

Even experienced skiers find the steep slopes at the Penken Action Mountain challenging: A gradient of 78 % doesn’t exist anywhere else in Austria! But the 133 km of slopes at the Mayrhofen ski resort also offer plenty of routes for beginners. The Ahorn mountain is known for true pleasures and as a top address for beginners and families. Romance lovers appreciate the White Lounge at Ahorn – there is an Igul village incl. hotel and bar at 2000 meters above sea level. The Mayrhofen ski resort can be easily reached from Hippach with the Horbergbahn lifts.

Penken is also a hotspot for snowboarders and freerides as the Vans Penken Park offers six areas for different ability levels. In 2010, the park was awarded as the best snow park in Europe. The diverse ski resort also offers plenty of options to spend time in the white landscape off the slopes, such as tobogganing at Tristenbachalm pasture or the seven-kilometre-long and floodlit natural tobogganing track at Gerlosstein. Furthermore, it is possible to enjoy the magnificent surroundings on winter hiking tours and on one of the four cross-country skiing tracks in Schwendau.
