Magic winter traces

The Kaunertal valley ranks among Tirol's most pristine Alpine landscapes, especially in the winter when the little hamlets and idyllic mountain villages are covered all in white. Winter walking fans and snowshoe hikers can explore the silent side of nature. From autumn through early summer the Kaunertal Glacier slopes offer perfect snow and skiing conditions between 2150 and 3200 meters above sea level. Wide open slopes with absolute snow guarantee promise superb Alpine skiing, snowboarding and riding. Night skiing and night tobogganing are scheduled in the small family ski area of Fendels every Thursday evening. A panoramic road takes winter sport fans directly up to the Kaunertal glacier area and its unrivaled glacier park. At the top station of Karlesjochbahn mountain lift you should not miss out on a visit to the panoramic vantage platform overlooking three countries – Switzerland, Italy and Austria. Dreamlike pass roads, broad ski runs, excellent ski mountaineering routes plus bright sunshine under deep blue skies!

From the end of December until the middle of April the Kaunergrat Nature Park invites year locals and guests to a very special winter experience.

The Kaunertal region is even more picturesque when covered in snow: white woods, glistening fields, icey brooks, animal tracks in the snow.
