As soon as you open the panoramic window of your hotel in Hintertux, you can indulge in a number of truly awe-inspiring Alpine highlights – among them the breathtaking "Olperer Glacier" at 3500 meters above sea level, the splendid "Hoher Riffler" at 3230 meters altitude or the mighty "Gefrorene Wand" at 3288 meters, a real challenge also for extreme alpinists. The holiday villages of Tux and Hintertux, embedded in one of Zillertal's secluded side valleys, are renowned for their outstanding Alpine scenery. Mountain exploration is the order of the day: countless mountain bike trails, numerous nordic walking routes and – of course – an infinite variety of classic walking and hiking trails are spread all over the holiday region. Alpine joy in winter: Holidays in Tux / Hintertux

Snow reliability is just normal in lovely Tux: although temperatures are moderate in Hintertux and sunshine is almost guaranteed in winter, the ski slopes at Hintertux Glacier offer superb snow conditions all summer long, and powder snow runs are available already from October onwards. 21 state-of-the-art mountain lifts whisk skiers and snowboarders up to the top stations, open daily from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm, giving access to immaculate ski runs to both novice winter sport fans and real experts. The huge "Zillertal 3000 – Hintertux" ski area boasts incredible 193 kilometers of ski slopes, comprising five ski areas and more than 60 mountain lifts. Off-piste winter fun is scheduled as well in romantic Hintertux: cross-country skiing on the Luggi Gredler nordic track, tobogganing on Bichlalm or Grieralm and snowshoe hiking amid the picture-book winter wonderland.

An amazing Summer for Children
The Glacier Playground at 3,250 m a.s.l. may well be the world's highest playground. Walking along the Tuxbach brook is fun for all ages. There is also a Climbing Camp for Children, where your kids learn the basics of mountaineering and the code of conduct that they should respect in the mountains. However, there is much more to choose from: tennis, climbing taster courses, walking tours with torches, and numerous festivals for the littl'uns make sure that your children will never be bored.

But there is more than just nature. 30 alluring alpine huts offer fantastic hospitality. Travel Route & Address

A12 Inntalautobahn motorway - exit Zillertal - B169 to Mayrhofen - Tuxer Landesstraße road towards Hintertux. (motorway exit Zillertal to Hintertux approx. 50km). The Tuxer Landesstraße road from Mayrhofen to Hintertux is accessible throughout the year. Snowchains are required in case of snow and/or ice. Weight limit: 16 tons. No trailers allowed! Max. height: 4.2m
