Zillertal Arena Winter Paradise

The Zillertal Arena ski resort meets the highest demands of ski fans. The largest ski resort in the Zillertal valley with 139 km of slopes stretches across several mountains and valleys all the way to the county of Salzburg. There are 51 modern lifts which link the villages of Zell, Gerlos and Königsleiten. The Gerlosstein family ski resort with its 12 km of slopes is also part of the Zillertal Arena and ideal for beginners. And the best of all: There are no queues!

A special highlight of every skiing holiday in the Zillertal valley is the natural and illuminated tobogganing run at Gerlosstein. At Hainzenberg, you take the Gerlosstein lift to the top of the mountain where 7km of tobogganing fun start. There are numerous cozy huts along the way which are definitely worth stopping by. If you prefer to spend a relaxing winter day in the sun, then walk to the Maria Rast pilgrimage church at Hainzenberg where you have beautiful views of Zell and the Zillertal valley. With approx. 2,000 inhabitants and a size of 2.4 km² Zell am Ziller is the heart of the Zillertal valley, and the valley's administration and educational center.

Ready, stead and up the mountains! Everyone will find their private mountain adventure there: Walking and hiking, mountain biking and paragliding. The 45,000 m² leisure park completes the offering with 4 outdoor tennis courts, 3 indoor tennis courts, a modern sports curling alley, an adventure playground, a mini golf course, a fun court for basketball and street ball, a beach volleyball court, a football field and a cafe/restaurant with play area for children and a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains.

The oldest reference of tourism in Zell dates from 1428 when messengers from Italy stopped there on their way to Salzburg. Zell hosts the popular Gauder Fest in May every year, and it is home to the oldest private brewery.

The community of Zellberg counts approx. 700 inhabitants and has a size of 12 km². The village is devided in two parts: Zellbergeben and Zellberg. Idyllic walks to Josef chapel and Herz-Jesu chapel - at the end of the "Holzweg" themed trail.

There are about 400 inhabitants on 10 km². This is where the base terminal of Rosenalm railway is located - the access point to the Zillertal Arena, the largest ski resort in the Zillertal valley. Traditional inns invite you to stop by on hiking tours.

There are about 600 inhabitants on 21 km². Popular excursions are to the gold mine, the animal park and the cheese diary as well as Maria Rast pilgrimage church.

There are approx. 380 inhabitants on 16 km². Interesting places are the Gerlosberg stations of the corss and many old farm houses along the hiking paths.
Located at an altitude of 580 meters, ZELL AM ZILLER is the center of the Zillertal Valley in terms of history and location. Together with the villages of Gerlosberg, Hainzenberg, Zellberg and Rohrberg it offers accommodation for up to 5,000 guests.
Zell offers access to the vast ZILLERTAL ARENA ski area: 143 km of slopes and 52 cutting-edge uphill facilities take you up to an altitude of 1,300 to 2,505 meters, from early December till April. Take a break and visit some of the charming mountain restaurants, snow bars and pubs in the ski area.
