Summer holiday fun in Allgäu/Bavarian Swabia

The summer season boasts heaps of rewarding excursion sites and splendid activities in the Allgäu/Bavarian Swabia holiday region. Historical sights are Neuschwanstein Castle, the ancient center of the Fugger town of Augsburg or the Unterwittelsbach Sissy Castle. The ultimate Geopark Ries gives an insight into the consequences of a meteorite impact dating back some 14 million years. Undisputed highlights for the youngest guests are the fantastic Legoland near Günzburg or Augsburg's Puppet Center and museum. Action fans are recommended to discover the Allgäu Skyline Park featuring more than 50 attractions – among them the Sky Wheel, Europe's highest overhead roller coaster.

Nature explorers will find a huge 600 km network of walking trails and hiking paths in the immediate surroundings. Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy the scenic Danube cycleway, the Allgäu loop track, varied theme trails and wonderful nature paths leading right across the Neu-Ulm culture land. Further attractions are the Geopark Ries, the Augsburg-Western Forests nature park and the highly idyllic landscapes along the river Danube and other splendid brooks. No less than 30 lakes offer endless water fun on hot summer days – for example marvelous lake Constance.
